The purpose of the Table Topics Contest is to provide an opportunity to learn by observing the more proficient speakers who have benefited from their Toastmasters training and to encouroage development of impromptu and/or extemporaneous speaking skills and to recognize the best as encouragement to all. We had five contestants for our contest. The Bon Air Toastmasters 2012 Table Topics Contest winner is: Shona Ensign. Please join us in supporting Shona as she goes on to compete in the Area 33 Table Topics Contest! 2012 Bon Air Toastmasters International Speech Contest (March 27th) The International Speech Contest provides an opportunity for speakers to improve their speaking abilities and to recognize the best as encouragement to all. To provide an opportunity to learn by observing the more proficient speakers who have benefited from their Toastmasters training. Speakers are given five to seven minutes to give a speech on any topic. We had three contestants for our contest. Looking Back and Looking AheadAs we approach the end of 2011, I look back over the past year in Bon Air Toastmasters and we can certainly be proud of the accomplishments we achieved this year with our rapid regrowth and vast expansion of opportunities for our members. Thanks to CarePoint Medical, we have a great new meeting space in Innsbrook and our meetings are now full of active and engaged attendees every week. Our new slate of officers are working hard for our members and we have set the stage for an amazing 2012. We are on track to achieve President's Distinguished status as of July 1st of 2012. With so many new members and so many great speeches, we are poised for a fantastic 2012 and I feel privileged to be a part of Bon Air Toastmasters. This election marks a first for Bon Air Toastmasters since all but one of the offices had at least two candidates running for election to each role. Everyone who presented their campaign speeches were very well prepared and the speeches were very helpful in guiding the members' votes. Let's all sdo whatever we can to promote and help the efforts of our new officers as they learn their roles and go forth to assure maximum enjoyment and education of our members! Come on TWENTY!The leadership team of Bon Air Toastmasters is extremely proud to anounce that Bon Air now has 17 active members in good standing on the eve of club officer elections. This is most of the way to our 2011 goal of 20 members. We just need three more people to step forward in wanting the benefit of joining a dynamic learning lab where we all work together to improve and build our communication and leadership skills... only three more before Dec 31st... Come on TWENTY! :-)
