Club Officer Elections

The Bon Air Toastmasters Club conducted club officer elections during the meeting and the resulting slate of officers to take office as of July 1st is as follows:

• President: Eriks Goodwin-Pfister, DTM
• Vice President Education: Michael Von Bank, CC
• Vice President Membership: Huy Tran, CC CL
• Vice President Public Relations: Jason Caplan
• Secretary: Ryan Nester
• Treasurer: Sharon Brown
• Sergeant at Arms: Daniel Dalton

At the conclusion of the election, Eriks Goodwin-Pfister, DTM elaborated briefly on his goals for Q3 and Q4 of 2012 for Bon Air Toastmasters:

• More outreach to the local business community in order to bring the benefits of Toastmasters membership and training to more people.
• More focus on the development of leadership skills among club officers, along with the membership in general.
• A strong and vibrant mentoriship program which helps to truly maximize the experience of all members.

Table Topics

After the remarks by the President-Elect, the club moved into a fun and exciting session of Table Topics led by Sharon Brown and where every member and guest present was able to have a chance to participate.  The Best Table Topics speaker for the meeting was voted to be Michael Von Bank, CC.

Per the suggestion of one of our members, we will be posting important business or items of interest from our meetings here on the Bon Air Toastmasters web site.

During our meeting on June 5th, the major item of business was the nomination of candidates for officer roles for the coming semi-annual officer terms of office.  The results are as follows:

These candidates are only pre-nominated for the June 12th Club Officer Elections.  Prior to the election, floor nominations will still be accepted and any member in good standing may run for one or more offices. Candidates for President must have served at least six months in another officer role by July 1st, 2012 to be eligible for election.

The Educational Presentation this evening was given by Michael Von Bank, CC on "How to Register for Speeches in the Easy-Speak System."

There were no speech project presenters during the meeting due to the time requirements of the Nominations process.

An extended Table Topics portion of the meeting was enjoyed by all and everyone had a chance to participate.  The Best Table Topics Speaker of the evening was Ryan Nester.

At the end of the meeting in his closing remarks, Club President Eriks Goodwin-Pfister, DTM conveyed his vision for a more broadly community based club in the coming year and he called for a re-dedication to the principles and procedures that have made Toastmasters the world's best environment for the improvement of public speaking skills.
